UAE Broadens Horizons with Expanded Visa-on-Arrival for Indian Nationals

In a significant move to strengthen ties and boost tourism, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expanded its visa-on-arrival program for Indian nationals. Effective from February 13, 2025, Indian passport holders with valid visas or residence permits from a host of countries can now enjoy seamless entry into the UAE.
What’s New?
Previously, Indian travelers with valid visas or residence permits from the United States, United Kingdom, or European Union were eligible for a UAE visa-on-arrival. The recent expansion now includes valid visas or residence permits from:
- Australia
- Canada
- Japan
- New Zealand
- Republic of Korea (South Korea)
- Singapore
This initiative underscores the UAE’s commitment to fostering global connections and making travel more accessible for Indian nationals.
Key Details:
- Eligibility: Indian nationals holding a valid visa or residence permit from the aforementioned countries.
- Validity Requirements: Both the visa/residence permit and the passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival in the UAE.
- Duration of Stay:
- 14-Day Visa: Available for a fee of AED 100, extendable for an additional 14 days at AED 250.
- 60-Day Visa: Available for AED 250, non-extendable.
This policy aims to enhance the travel experience, allowing for both short-term visits and extended stays, whether for tourism or business purposes.
Why This Matters:
The UAE has long been a favored destination for Indian travelers, offering a blend of cultural experiences, business opportunities, and world-class attractions. By broadening the visa-on-arrival eligibility, the UAE not only simplifies the travel process but also strengthens its strategic partnership with India. This move is expected to boost tourism, facilitate business engagements, and foster closer people-to-people connections between the two nations.
For Indian professionals and families residing in these newly included countries, this development offers greater flexibility and convenience in planning visits to the UAE. Whether it’s a spontaneous getaway or a planned business trip, the expanded visa-on-arrival program makes the UAE more accessible than ever before.
